I try downloading Mods, but end up with strange-looking text in my browser?
You are probably using Netscape on a Macintosh. Netscape, IE, and Safari may have difficulties handling the .rbm files. Here's what you do:
While holding down the [Control] key, click on the link and select "Save to Disk" or "Download Link to Disk." If prompted save the file to a convenient location on your desktop or the ReBirth Mods folder.
To set up Netscape to automatically recognize the .RBM file format, proceed with the following:
1. In Netscape - Open the Preferences from the Edit menu.
2. Open the Navigator item and select the Applications item.
3. Click New
4. For this new item, set Description to ReBirth Mod files, suffix to .rbm and leave MIME type blank.
5. Set the file type to be Saved to Disk.
6. Close all dialogs.
7. Try again. |

| I've downloaded a few Mods from your site, now what?
To make the mods work you have to put them in the 'Mods' folder inside your ReBirth-folder. The next time you launch ReBirth or select 'Update Mod List' from the Mods menu the Mods are available. |
 |
| Alert: "The Mod could not be loaded"
This alert might appear even though the .rbm files are put inside in the Mods folder. There are three possible explanations:
The Mod was not downloaded correctly. If the download is interrupted the mod can't be used. To check for this, compare the exact size of the file you've downloaded with the exact size of the mods (it's posted on the Mod Download page). If the numbers don't match the download was not completed and you'll have to try again.
You're out of memory. Some of the mods are real memory hogs and you'll need more memory. If you are using a Mac, you can assign more memory to ReBirth in the 'Show Info' dialog. Other than that, all you can do is buy more memory or quit other applications.
You're using a cracked program. The cracked versions of ReBirth won't let you use Mods. It's people like you who prompted Propellerhead Software to terminate ReBirth RB-338, and spoiled it for those who expected an update. |

| I can't get the Modpacker to run properly on my Mac?
In most cases, especially if you have partitioned drive or dual boot system, Modpacker will not respond when a folder is dragged on the application. You must rebuild the desktop database on MacOS 9. Restart your computer and during the bootup, hold down the [control] and [option keys] until the system asks you to rebuild the desktop. Once restored Modpacker should function normally. |
 |
| I can't get the Modpacker to run properly on Windows XP?
When the Modpacker was created, Windows 95/98 did not use the long file and folder names that e.g. Windows XP use today, and this presents a problem. When the Modpacker is installed in the default installation folder, it will return a "The file xxxx could not be found." alert when any folder is dropped on the application.
To solve this problem, simply move the entire Modpacker folder to the root of the C:/ drive." |
